Hooray

Hi all

Some friends recently renewed their wedding vows whilst on a cruise this is the card I made for them using the Hooray stamp set from Stamps By Me Ltd.

I used Fired Brick Distress Ink spritzed with water to stamp the solid portion of the stamp.
The outline was stamped in Ranger Embossing Ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.
I then mat and layered onto a piece of pearlescent red card stock and another layer of white card.
The sentiments were stamped in Ranger Embossing Ink at the top and bottom of the base mat and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.
It turned out to be a really elegant card.

Thanks for popping in

New Arrival Olivia Maeve

Hi All

One of my neighbours has just had a beautiful baby girl.  I made a card to commemorate her birth and also a quick card for big sister Tilly.  I hope you like them.

I matted some patterned papers from my stash onto pale pink pearlescent card stock.

The bottom layer was made to fit a 6 x 6 card and the the two smaller layers were added in a haphazard style onto the card.

I coloured onto an MDF baby girl that I bought from CleverCut using Copics and attached this to a piece of the pearlescent card stock and attached to the card front.

I stamped A Special Delivery Calendar which I bought a few years ago from Pink Gem Designs, as it was so long ago I'm not sure if it is still available. I cut this out using a circle punch and cut a slightly larger mat again using a circle punch from the pearlescent card stock and attached to the front of the card using foam tape.

Buttons were added to two corners and a third to the spine using pink and white bakers twine.

I finally added the name by handwriting onto MDF tags from CleverCut which I attached with bakers twine, but I also glued them down to keep them in place.

This is the box lid for Olivia's card.  I matted some more of the patterned paper onto the pink pearlescent card stock over the whole lid.

I stamped the Baby Girl sentiment using a set of stamps from Buzzcraft, I'm not sure where I bought them from but they are item no 466 which is a Birth/Christening set. Again this was matted on the pearlescent card and added at a jaunty angle to the middle of the box lid.

This is the card I made for Olivia's big sister Tilly.

The main image was stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured using Copics.

I matted this onto lilac card and and rounded two opposite corners but left the other two square and added gems to these.

I matted an A5 card using two different patterned papers from my stash and covered the join with some pink lace.

I stamped the sentiment on the top section of the card, and added gems to all 4 corners.

I wrote 'Big Sister' in the balloon and covered this with a scratch off sticker.

I then attached the main image using foam tape.

Thanks for popping in.

Lots of Love

Triplets

Hi All

I was recently asked to make a card for the birth of a set of Triplets.  This is what I came up with, I hope you all like it.

I stamped the complete image once using Tuxedo Black Momento Ink and cut it out,

I then stamped the balloon portion of the stamp again using the same ink two more times and cut them out.

To make the elephant and all 3 sets of balloons fit on the card I had to cut the balloons from the complete elephant too so I could re-position them.

I coloured the images using Copics (apologies I didn't take note of the colours I used as I was playing).

I wrote the names of the three baby boys onto the balloons.  (This was a big step for me as I hate my handwrting - lol).

I matted a 6x6 card with some green polka dot paper and stamped the sentiment in the corner using Generation Inx Back to Black ink pad before mounting the elephant and the balloons onto this with foam tape.

I stamped A Special Delivery Calendar stamp from Pink Gem Designs using Generation Inx Back to Black ink pad on the same polka dot paper and cut out using a circle punch and attached to the card with foam tape.

Finally I covered the names with the Scratch off stickers.

Thanks for popping in.

Lots of Love

Happy Birthday Jules

Hi All

It's one of my best friend's birthday today (Happy Birthday Julie - and now that I know she has received and opened her card I can show it to you all.  I hope you like it.

The image is from the Loving Wishes stamp set from Stamps by Me Ltd, and the sentiment is from the Hooray stamp set also from Stamps by Me Ltd.

I stamped the image using Tuxedo Black Momento ink and coloured the using Copics in the following colours: E04, RV42, R20, G85, G82, YG11, W7, W3, W1, 0 Colourless Blender.

The centre of the flowers has a hint of dusky pink glitter added using a Quickie glue pen.

I stamped the senitment in Generation Inx Back to Black from Stamps by Me Ltd.

The image was matted onto some dusky pink card and mounted on foam tape onto patterened paper which was matted on the same plain card stock on an A5 card.

It is a very simple card but I think it looks very elegant.

Thanks for popping in.

Butterfly Stitch

Hi All

I've had a little play with a couple of new products this week.  First of all the beautiful Butterfly Stitch stamp from Stamps by me Ltd, this stamp will be featured on Create and Craft on Tuesday, 15 November at 2pm.  The other new product is the Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders also available from Stamps by me Ltd.

  • For this first card I stamped the Butterfly Stitch stamp using Generation Inx Back to Black
  • I coloured the image using Copic Ciao pens in the following colours; E04, RV42 and R20 for the flowers and G85, G82 and YG11 for the leaves
  • The glitter was added to the outline using a Quickie Glue Pen
  • The image and sentiment were then matted and layered onto coordinating card stock and patterned papers on which I rounded all the corners.

  • The first step of this card was to take a piece of watercolour card and wet it liberally using a paintbrush
  • I used Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders in the following colours; Emerald, Aubergine Dream and Straw Yellow.  I mixed a small amount of the Pixie Powders with quite a bit of water on a pallet and painted random splodges of the 3 colours all over the already wet watercolour card.
  • Using the same 3 colours of Pixie Powder I patted the bottles over the wet card to allow spots of colour to develop and mingle with the painted background.
  • Once the watercolour card was dry I stamped the Butterfly Stitch stamp using Generation Inx Back to Black over the top of the Pixie Powder background
  • I cut the image out and mounted it using foam tape for dimension onto plain and glittered card stock.
  • I stamped the word Lovely using the Loving Wishes stamp set using Black Archival Ink pad and embossed immediately using clear embossing powder.
  • I fussy cut the sentiment and added to the front of the card
  • As this was a twisted easel card I used the same plain and glittered card stock to mat the base of the card
  • I used another of the sentiments from the  Loving Wishes stamp set and stamped again using Black Archival Ink pad and embossed immediately using clear embossing powder.
  • I attached this with foam tape to act as a stopper for the easel card.

  • For this card I used the Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders again but in a slightly different way.  I did not paint the colours first as on the previous card.
  • I wet a piece of watercolour card using a large paintbrush, making the card quite wet.
  • Using the same 3 colours of Pixie Powders as on the previous card I patted the bottles over the wet card to create dots of colour which started to run and separate.
  • I spritzed more water onto the card with a fine mister to encourage the colours to run even more. It is amazing how many colours you end up with as the powders separate.
  • Once the card was dry I stamped the bottom portion of the Butterfly Stitch stamp twice using Generation Inx Back to Black over the top of the Pixie Powder background.
  • I cut these out and adhered them to a piece of patterned paper matted onto black card stock to mimic a butterfly.
  • Gems were added down the centre to give the illusion of the butterfly's body.
  • The antennae were hand drawn to complete the butterfly.
  • I stamped the sentiment in Generation Inx Back to Black from the Hooray stamp set and matted onto the card at jaunty angle.
  • Finally gems were added to the corners to finish the card.

  • This was a very quick card
  • I used the same piece of background card I made for the twisted easel card above and stamped the Butterfly Stitch stamp using Generation Inx Back to Black over the top of the Pixie Powder background.
  • On a piece of patterned paper with a fairy image I marked on the fairy's arm where the dress would come to.
  • I cut out around the fairy's arm using a craft knife to allow the image to slide under her arm, giving the appearance that she was wearing the dress.
  • I used a Quickie Glue pen to add glitter to the fairy's wings.
  • Gems were added to two corners.
  • Finally ribbon was tied in a bow around the spine of the card.  It doesn't show on the photo, but the ribbon matches the shimmer from the Pixie Powders on the dress.
Hope you like them all

Sketch White Ink Pad and Re-inker

Hi All

Today I'd like to give you a little bit of an overview of the new Generation Inx Sketch White ink pad and re-inker from Stamps By Me Ltd.  See below for some of the makes and techniques I've tried so far.

For this card I stamped the Joyful image and sentiment using Generation Inx in purple and then stamped over this slightly offset with the Generation Inx Sketch White.  It gives a really effective shadow. I then did some very light splatters too using the Sketch White watered down.

This card shows the same technique as the first card in the same colour ink but on a different colour card stock.  I think the shadow effect looks even better on this one. I also added the outline image from the Hooray set.

On this card I used the Generation Inx Sketch White re-inker.  I used two drops of the re-inker watered down as a paint.  You can change the intensity of the colour by adding more or less water.

For this one I tried something a little bit different.  I stamped the images from the Silent Night set with the Generation Inx Sketch White I like the subtle effect it gives.

Again this one was made to create the shadow effect.  I stamped the Winter Wishes stamp in Generation Inx in blue then re stamped in the Generation Inx Sketch White slightly offset.  I like this but think it would have been better on a different shade of blue card.

I also tried making more of a snowy scene by flicking watered down Generation Inx Sketch White re-inker too.  It works brilliantly but I've lost the photo.  I'll take another and it add later.

Finally I tried the shadow effect on lots of different card stock with different colours of ink, I had varying degrees of success, if the card or bottom ink layer are too light the effect gets a bit lost. But I had great fun playing and loved a lot of the effects that I achieved.  I would recommend this ink to any crafter, it is so versatile and I've only just scratched the surface.

Also I've seen some of the cards other Stamps By Me Ltd Design Team Members have made and there are even more possibilities, than I'd thought of so far.  We all post on Facebook so look out for some of their creations and inspiration for this versatile ink too.

Thanks for popping in.

Some Mixed Flowers from Stamps By Mr Ltd

Hi All

I'm back again with another stamp from Stamps By Me Ltd.  For this post I'm showcasing the Mixed Flower stamp.  This stamp is so versatile.  I'm showing 3 cards here but still have loads of ideas on how to use it that I haven't tried yet.

  • For this card I started by creating the background on a piece of white card. I used brushes to apply Generation Inx in aqua, blue and purple.  I brushed across the card in one direction to get a smooth airbrushed graduated colour effect.
  • I stamped the the Mixed Flower stamp using Generation Inx Back to Black ink pad.
  • I coloured the image using watered down Generation Inx in purple and watered down Adirondack in Lettuce.
  • I added some glitter using a quickie glue pen.
  • I matted the image on black card and used foam tape to adhere to the card blank at a quirky angle.
  • I stamped the sentiment using Generation Inx Back to Black ink pad directly onto the bottom corner of the card blank.
  • The card was lacking something so I added faux stitching around all sides of the card.

  • I think this card turned out quite well.
  • I stamped the Mixed Flower stamp using Ranger Embossing Ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.
  • I used the Generation Inx White Reinker slightly watered down and painted the flowers.
  • I watered down the paint mixture a bit more and painted the leaves.
  • I matted this on white and more craft card.
  • The sentiment was again stamped with Ranger Embossing Ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.
  • Pearls in the corners and ribbon down the spine give a nice finishing touch.

  • This is my favourite make with this stamp so far.
  • I die cut a piece of white card to get the faux stitching effect.
  • The image was stamped onto this die cut using Generation Inx Back to Black ink pad.
  • The image was stamped again on another piece of white card stock.
  • I cut a small section from the centre of the second image using a smaller matching die to the first.
  • This small piece was coloured in using Copics.
  • Using foam tape to give dimension I adhered the coloured portion of the image to the first larger image, ensuring that the images were in alignment.
  • The two images were matted onto black card.
  • Two sentiments from the Hooray stamp set were stamped in opposite corners at the top and bottom of the card blank using Generation Inx Back to Black ink pad.
  • Finally I added the completed topper to the card blank using foam tape.

Thanks for popping in.

Hooray its Stamps By Me Ltd

Hi all

Today I'm showing some more design team makes for Stamps By Me Ltd.  This time I'm using the Hooray stamp set.  I hope you like them.

  • This was a quick and easy card to make but I think it looks really effective.
  • First of all on a piece of white card stock I stamped the solid stamp from the Hooray stamp set twice using Generation Inx in purple and dried it with a heat gun.
  • Next I dusted the stamped image with an anti-static bag and stamped the outline stamp also from the the Hooray set using Ranger Embossing Ink and embossed with gold embossing powder.
  • I stamped the sentiments from the Hooray set with Ranger Embossing Ink and gold embossed at the top and bottom of a larger piece of white card stock.
  • I matted both pieces of stamped white card onto a gold card and used foam tape to attach the image to the larger piece of card in between the stamped sentiments.
  • Finally I matted these onto a blank card;

  • For this card I again used the Hooray stamp set
  • On a piece of pink card I stamped the main solid image using Generation Inx in purple and dried it with a heat gun.
  • I then stamped the same image again but slightly offset using Generation Inx in white to give a shadow effect and dried it with a heat gun.
  • I stamped over this image with the outline stamp using Generation Inx in purple and dried it with a heat gun.
  • I matted this image on a piece of dark purple card stock
  • Then I used my Tim Holtz Ideology ruler to pierce holes around the edge of a slightly larger piece of white card stock and stamped one of the sentiments using Generation Inx in purple and dried it with a heat gun.
  • I stamped the Hooray sentiment on the a large piece of pink card using Generation Inx in purple and dried it with a heat gun.
  • I matted this large pink card onto a piece of dark purple card
  • The image was matted onto the white pierced card
  • Using foam tape the topper was matted onto the pink card underneath the Hooray sentiment.
  • The whole thing was matted onto a blank card
  • Finally I added ribbon down the spine and a few gems in the corners.

Thanks for popping in.

Enjoy from Stamps by Me Ltd

Hi All

I'm back again with some Design Team makes for Stamps by Me Ltd.  This time I've been using the Enjoy stamp set.  I hope you like what I've created.  I've given brief details of the how to for each project underneath the photographs.

  • For this one I stamped the image and the sentiment on white card stock using the Stamps by Me Ltd Generation Inx Back to Black ink pad.
  • I then inked up the solid stamp for the leaf with Peeled Paint Distress Ink and spritzed it lightly with water before stamping over the outline image.
  • I inked up the solid stamp for the flower head with Fired Brick Distress Ink, which I again spritzed with a little water before stamping over the outline image.
  • I pressed some of each of the Distress Inks onto an acrylic block and spritzed liberally with water and flicked both colours over the image to give the splattered background effect.
  • I inked round the edges of the stamped image using Fired Brick Distress Ink again.
  • I repeated this on each of the three patterned pieces of paper, as well as the main card blank.
  • I matted each layer onto black card and arranged in a haphazard design using 3D foam on the top image layer.
  • I added a few gems to the the corners and some ribbon to the spine of the card to finish off.

  • The gift bag came about as a bit by accident.  I stamped the sentiment and the main outline image in the Generation Inx Back to Black, twice on the raspberry card.
  • I stamped the solid flower head using the brand new Generation Inx White ink pad on both images.
  • I roughly cut round one of the flower heads and layered it with 3D Foam on top of the first image.
  • Using a small drop of the Generation Inx Reinker in White I spritzed it with water and flicked the colour all over the image.
  • I matted this image on black card.  This is where the gift bag idea came to me.  I couldn't decide what style of card I wanted to make so did the gift bag instead.
  • I made a coordinating tag and and stamped the sentiment again onto this using Generation Inx Back to Black.
  • I tied the tag to the handle of the gift bag with ribbon and added a coordinating bow to the main image.
  • I need to thank Gail Lett for the inspiration for this.  See her original idea below and visit her blog for more fab ideas.

Eureka Stamping Tool - Toni demo's 10 amazing techniques!

    Hi All

OMG you must watch this video but be warned you will want one.  The Eureka 101 is available now on pre-order from Stamps by Me Ltd.  I can't wait to get mine to try some of these techniques.  It will save me a fortune in card stock with incompletely stamped images. I'll just be able to do it again and have everything perfectly aligned. I'm loving the size too, being able to fit an 8 " x 8" card.  All this with the added bonus of a score board and tool too.

Please note the video has been taken down temporarily but will be back soon.  I'll keep you posted when it goes live again. Thanks for your patience.

    Alistair's Birthday Card

    Hi All

It was my son Alistair's 15th Birthday on Halloween and this is the card I made for him.  It suited him to a tee as this really is how he spends most of his spare time lol.

The image is a Penny Black Cling Stamp - Your Way.  I stamped and coloured the image using Copics, distressed the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink and matted on black card. I stamped the sentiment on white card and also distressed this with Black Soot Distress Ink. Having a member of the family with a Halloween birthday means I always have a stash of spooky papers, I used one for the background and again used the Black Soot Distress Ink on the edges.  The October 31st sentiment came from the same background paper.

Hope you like it, Alistair loved it.

    Xmas Cards for a friend

    Hi All

You may remember I mentioned in a post a couple of days ago that a friend had asked me to make her quite a few Christmas cards,  Well here they are I made 22 in total for her, she wanted 10 with snow scenes and 10 traditional and one each for her 2 grandchildren.

These are the two cards for her grandchildren the first is a Polkadoodles image stamped and coloured with Copics and accented with a little glitter, this was matted on navy pearlescent card and layered on coordinating Christmas Paper. The second is a stamp from Lily Of the Valley which was also coloured with Copis and mat and layered in the same way but in plum tones, the sentiments for both cards were printed from my computer.

There were 10 snow scene cards altogether, all had the same image stamped in Blue Generation Inx by Stamps by Me Ltd and then glitter added with a quickie glue pen, the mat and layered on two different coordinating Christmas Papers matted onto navy pearlescent card.

Again there were 10 tradition style cards too, this time the image was stamped in Plum Archival Ink and matted and layered on plum cardstock and coordinating Christmas papers.

    Hope you like them all.

    Thanks for popping in.

More Stamps by Me Ltd Samples

    Hi All

I'm back again with the second set of stamps that are to be launched on Create and Craft on 1 November 2016 at 2.00pm by Toni Darroch from Stamps by Me Ltd.  This set is called Foliage and I think they are so versatile, they will be great to use with any of your existing floral stamps or dies.

This is the first card I did using this set.

I stamped the sentiment in the centre and various leaf outline stamps around the edge of a piece of craft card using Ranger Embossing Ink and embossed with White Seafoam embossing powder. I then coloured the leaves in using watered down Adirondack Ink in: Stream, Wild Plum, and Egg Plant.  The ink bled under the embossing powder a little bit but I think it adds to the look.

The lines were created using double sided tape and glitters in coordinating colours.

This is the second card I made with the Foliage stamp set.  I spent a bit more time on this one and had really good fun playing.

I started by stamping the solid leaf stamps in Adirondack Lettuce ink using first and second generation ink to create a border around a white piece of card stock I then stamped over this with one of the outline stamps using Adirondack ink pad in Stream.  The sentiment was stamped using Ranger Embossing Ink and embossed with Black Sparkle embossing powder.

The next stage was the best fun.  I got out my Ranger Alcohol Inks that I haven't used for ages.  I took a piece of 6" x 4" glossy photo paper and started to cover it with various colours of the alcohol ink.  I used three or four drops of each colour on a felt pad and added blending solution to make the colours bleed.  The colours I used were:  Sail Boat Blue, Oregano, Latte, Sunshine Yellow.  The outline leaves were stamped over the background using Archival Black Ink.  I then cut these out and added them to the card on 3D foam pads.  I matted using white and black card and added some dew drops to finish.

Hope you like the finished cards.

    Thanks for popping in
