Yippee....I'm so pleased, I've won Marlene's Blog Candy with a Twist III. It's the first candy I've won and I'm so excited it feels like Christmas all over again!
Marlene's bonus Candy with a Twist IV is now available to those who have played along in Candies I, II and III.
This is the wonderful candy that is heading my way, how lucky am I and the pink theme couldn't be more apt as it's my favourite colour.
Thanks again Marlene for your amazing generosity.
I hope this post will pass on some of my good luck to everyone else.

January Retreat
I've had a really enjoyable time this past weekend. Myself and some friends have had a mini scrap booking retreat at the "Royal Charnock Hotel", otherwise known as Julie's house. We had good chats, laughs, drinks, nibbles and of course a bit of crafting was thrown in too.
Here is a quick look at the scrapbook pages I made.

Best get off to bed now, got work in the morning (yuk) I'd much rather being staying at home as I've got to make my daughter's birthday card. I will show it on here when it's done, but maybe the day after her birthday so she can't get a sneaky peak.
Take Care

For My Dad
Hi, hope you've all had a good week, mine has been busy and just a tad stressful. My Dad has been in hospital all week (home now and much better, thank goodness) but also all of my mob have had some kind of nasty tummy bug (there's not much fun in our house this week).
Anyway, as a consequence not much crafting has been done, although I have had a little bit of time late at night to hop around a few of my fave blogs.
To celebrate my Dad getting back home yesterday I wanted to make him a card. I really struggled to come up with an idea of what to do so ended up making a very quick card with a digi image I downloaded from Cuddly Buddly. There is a reason why I chose this image, I'll not go into detail just suffice to say it has to something to with with wearing underpants over your clothes!!
The papers are all from a Brenda Pinnick pad that I bought years ago, I no longer have the cover so I can't even tell you which pad it is - sorry. The image was coloured in using my very limited range of Promarkers, I must get more.

The green papers behind the teddy image are actually a much brighter green than they look in the photo.
The ribbon is from a bargain bucket at Hobbycraft some time last year.
Here's to a much better week with everyone being fit and healthy.

My Crafting Buddy
I thought I'd introduce you all to my crafting buddy.
Nearly every time I go into my craft room to either read some blogs or actually try and do some crafting, I have a companion. Her favourite place to be is on my desk which kind of hinders you when you're busy trying to create something pretty.
Meet Tallula, my son's 8 month old kitten, who likes nothing more than causing havoc where ever she goes. She is beautiful but totally unlike any other cat I've had; she doesn't have a graceful bone in her body and regularly runs into things like walls or wardrobes; falls of window sills when she tries to jump up onto them; likes water being dripped onto her or lying in the bathroom sink; and playing fetch with small balls or crumpled up balls of paper, she is generally just a weird but wonderful cat.

I Love You This Much!
This is the Christmas card I made for my other half for Xmas 2010.
The papers are from DCVW Christmas Stack. Sorry I didn't take a photo of the side view of this easel card. I used Walnut Stain Distress Ink and glitter around the edge of the I Love You This Much! strip across the card.
The teddy stamp is from Kanban and is coloured using Promarkers and glitter from my stash, and inked around the edge with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and more glitter.
These flowers were meant to look like Poinsettias, I made them using EK Success punches in 3 different sizes and then glittered the edges and used mini brads from my stash for the centres. This is what I have to do when I find myself making a card in the wee small hours that I haven't planned out before I started!
The snowflake brads I had in my stash, but I wanted to bling them up a bit more so I covered them in PVA glue and dipped them in red glitter from my stash. I finished off with a red bow in the top corner to help balance the card.
As this card celebrates Christmas and how much I love my other half I thought I'd enter it in the Teddy Stampers Challenge #27.
Hope you like it.

Photo Collage Card
Hi this is a very quick post to show a couple of photo collage cards that I was asked to make. They are simple, yet effective, especially if the photos have special meaning for the recipient.
The numbers and letters were all cut on a Cricut Expression and the photo collages were made using Google Picassa which is free to download.
Hope you like them.

Birthday Gift Card
Hi, well here goes, this is the first craft project I'm going to show on my new blog. I hope you all like it, even though I know I still have a long to way to go catch up to the standards I've seen during my last month of blog hopping.
Anyway, it is my sister-in-law's birthday on 4th January and during Magnolia's Advent Blog Hop I saw a beautiful Coupon Book designed and made by Angie and thought I could use a similar idea, traditionally my sister-in-law receives cash for her birthday to shop in the January sales so what better way to dress up her gift than in her card.

Birthday Gift Card
I started by making the outer box card. The papers I used were bought in a set of 300 from Costco, unfortunately I haven't kept the front sheet with the details on but will try and find out what they are. The pearls I've had for years from a QVC kit and the turquoise gems are from my stash. The flowers are a mixture of Prima and Kaisercraft.
This is only my second attempt at colouring using Distress Ink Pads and I don't think it turned out too badly. The colours I've used are:
Antique Linen for skin and hair highlights, Brushed Corduroy and Walnut Stain to complete her hair. The dress and shoes are Broken China with the flower in Aged Mahogany and Peeled Paint. I also finished her cheeks with a little Worn Lipstick and added a white gel pen highlight to each cheek and the droplets on her flower. I glittered her wings from my stash.
The money wallet for inside the box card was made from the same papers and stamped with stamps from Kaisercraft, which I got from Merly Impressions.
I used the same Tilda coloured in the same way as before (you can tell I was practising!)
You can see I didn't think about photographing this project before I'd written it but at least you get the idea of what the inside looked like.
I hope I haven't broken any blogging etiquette, please feel free to correct me if you think I've been a bit naughty somewhere, I am new to this and I'm still learning the do's and don'ts.
Thanks for looking and please feel free to comment, I'm always open to suggestions on how I can improve my projects.

My First ever Blog!!
Hi and welcome to this my first ever blog entry. I'm hoping this will be the first of many.
I won't be attaching any photos to this first entry as it is merely a test for me to see how my blog will look. I have still got lots of work to do to make it look the way I would like, so if you do visit now and then come back on a later date you will hopefully notice some improvements.
Still can't believe I've actually gone ahead and done this but would like to wish you all a very happy and healthy 2011.
